There is a change in policy regarding use of the 15 minute tutorial before the start of an exam.

You are no longer allowed to make notes on scratch paper during the 15 minute tutorial. One must wait until the actual exam begins to make any notes.

Anyone else aware of this? Please confirm.

Hi,

I took the PMP exam on Nov 10th, 2016 and I was told by the Prometric representative, that I am only supposed to start making notes when the first question flashes on the screen! This she said, that the PMI has revised the rule of making notes.

So yeah, no making notes during the 15 minute tutorial. Although i wasn't aware of it until the exam day, but I complied as that was the last thing on my mind as I was already diving into answering the questions.

Some of our exam prep students have confirmed this in the last couple months.

I agree with Rami Kaibni and even I didn't feel it was necessary.

I agree with Rami and even I didn't feel it was necessary. There might be very limited numbers of questions to use formulas and simple memory of ITTOs. Majority of questions should be answered based on the different information given in each question, which mean any specific brain-dump items can't be utilized effectively in a timely manner with exception that It just provides you with being focused or emotional comfort before the exam. If my memory is correct, I really doubt if I had time or chance to use this type of tactic during the exam since I had only less than five minutes when I had all questions answered without any further review on marked questions.
i found the scratch paper/brain dump it very helpful. i had come up with a system to get all the formula on a brain dump - and when i hit one of the 'needed to work the formula' problems came up on the test - i didn't have to stress remembering the formula...the BrainDump for the formula worked very well for me. Other than that - though - i didn't need anything else on my brain-dump.
