I think that the PM's skills as the result of the PMBoK are lacking of the ability to realize projects benefits from the high level point of view. I believe the focus of the "default PM" is in "the tree" instead of watching "the forest" sort of
In this scenario the strategic management skills from the triangle represent a great opportunity

That is a common missunderstanding in the PM world. The project will not deliver benefits. What will deliver the expected benefits is the product/service/result that will be created by the project. The only thing a project manager has to do (a hard work indeed) is to assure that the product/service/result is created as defined. Here is where the business analyst role emerges from years ago but from now is the PMI“s focus too.

I think both PM & BRM role are different.

BRM is more specific to understanding of all business processes and providing guidance.

Thank you for your responses!

I see that the BRM role and the PM's are different. But, I also see that the BRM practices can't be done by a single resource. So my question is How the PM can be of value for the BRM practices?

What do you think?
