There are so many articles on newspaper or digital publications, that share the daily routines from famous CEO's or business leaders.

From wake up at 4.30 am in the morning, focus on only 2 task a day, the exercise in the morning, until the super importance of breakfast.

As a Project Manager, Share 2 or 3 daily routines to hack the day!

Early to bed, early to rise.
I wake up first in the household, with the dogs.
We make coffee, empty the dishwasher, and go out.
From there I will either do a short exercise routine, or run, then have breakfast before getting the kids up.
On my train commute, I read my kindle or browse my phone, and gauge my day.
Weather permitting, I'll get off the train early to have a bit of a walk.
I get off the elevator mid-way to walk the stairs the rest of the way.

Sorry, Maria, I threw your 2 or 3 right out the window!

Thank you Rami, Coffe, coffee....the batteries for some project managers!

Walk for a bit after lunch is a good idea. When I've worked in Spain, I've also done it, because there usually lunch time is more than 1 hour, and I don't need it.

I live in one time zone (IST) and work in another (EST)

1. Start morning early, have tea/coffee/breakfast, read newspaper, check & reply personal emails, meditate & do yoga

2. At office - start with checking emails, prepare list of activities for the day, work on deliverable, send status, sign off

3. Evening - Spend time with family, attend webinar (if any), log in to www.projectmanagement.com , check emails, catch up with friends on social network, and finally retire to bed

Can't limit to 2-3 daily routines!! :)

Thank you Anupam! Managing teams or meetings in different time zones sometimes is a challenge, but It's good to keep a routine to enjoy the free time.

ERANDO SILVESTRI JUNIOR CONTRACT MANAGER| CASTRO GERENCIAMENTO DE OBRAS Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil
1. I wake up at 5:30 AM to have breakfast and arrive at the office at 7AM.

2. Analyze the tasks to be performed on the day and check in the field if they are in progress. Manage conflicts that are constant in construction works.

3. Run 5 to 10km to relax from the day of work and rest with the family.

I have described more than 3 tasks per day, but only 3 topics! :)

1) Because I drive to work, I like to listen to audio-books during my commute. It doesn't feel like wasted time.
2) Block time in my schedule: some blocks to allow desk work, some blocks to prevent chained meetings - meetings following each other without any breaks.
3) Consolidate activities across projects: reviewing tickets and tasks for progress, reviewing time sheets. Because the projects use the same tools, it is more efficient to do one task across all projects, than all tasks for one project.

Thank you Stéphane, listening audio books, that sounds great! I've never tried it, I tested with a project management podcast but I've realized that I was distracted while driving.

Finally, I've decided listen to music to activate my mind or the news.

Julia Cunningham Manager Project Management| Battelle Richland, Wa, United States
1. Start Keurig while brushing teeth with Sonicare (2 timer cycles) so ready to brew when I walk to kitchen and gather my lunch to leave.
2. Daily calendar reminder to brush / floss after lunch.
3. Review all invoices / project charges in a standing block of time once per week.

Julia, thank you for sharing. Curious answer!

I had a Nespresso in Spain, here is not too common and its coffee refills are overpriced. Regarding your toothbrush...I have another brand, but yes, it's important to remember it.

- Early breakfast (even during business trips)
- Read emails of the nights
- Prepare an agenda of the business activities of the day
- Schedule my breaks and non-business activities (call to my plumber for example!) depending of the scheduled conference calls of the days
- Close as early as possible for private life

Thank you for your answers, I've realized that there are a lot of early birds!

Exercise also is important (Mens sanna in corpore sano - yes, that's latin was mandatory during high school)

I love to see more answers!
