I'm a 10+ yr veteran of the IT PM trenches and have been a student/follower of PMI for some time now. I've decided to pursue my PMP certification and I'm looking for two sources of study: 1) A CBT based training tool for the PMBOK, 2) A CBT based tool for PMP test prep.

Any recommendations?
Thanks!

While not computer based, I would recommend Rita Mulcahy's "PMP Exam Prep" text.
It is an excellent text that allowed me to review the content, complete the exercises, and pass the PMP test in 2 weekends.

Brian, the PMI.org website has many additional options, like study groups within some of the PMI chapters. This site also has links to courses, seminars, and additional products to help you prepare for the exam. I recently passed the exam, after taking a certificate course online from iil via NYU, and even though it was not an exam prep course, it did come with a CD that had practice questions.

I am currently taking courses through Villanova University (villanovau.com). They offer 4 courses, one of which is a PMP Prep course. I have been very happy with the design of the courses. I definately recommend it! They start classes on the 1st of each month. Each class is 8 weeks long. Attached is a detailed explanation of their PMP Track. Hope this helps!

While studying for the test I found the following indispensible: yahoo group PMPCERT. A large community of aspiring PMP's with a comprehensive, free, file section. You absolutely should join this group and use the materials posted.

I would recommend Career Academy (http://bit.ly/2fnjzjJ). They have a good price for their annual membership and they are PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). Career Academy is an institution that offers online on-demand video-based learning solutions for IT Networking, Cyber Security, Project Management and Office Professionals. You can prepare for the certification exams by taking courses from Career Academy.

Hi David,

i have watched this for a while now and i have to say that i found it kind of strange, that you digg for all these old threads who are related to PMP courses in some way only to place your commercial post!

Since this is not the primary intention on this community, i guess it is fair enough to tell you, that i will report your commercial postings from now on. The decision is on pm.com.

Regards,

Markus
