I have to ask a bunch of questions and to have more transparency and a better overview for your participation i will divide them in several postings.
What is this about? In short: It is about what questions to ask your sponsor as a project manger in your very first meeting to set a baseline during initiation phase.
In long: please refer to the before mentioned thread fur detailed information.
Here are the questions about "Stakeholders":
==========================================
Stakeholders
Who will benefit from this project?
What is the customer or department group the project aims to impact and how?
May there be any parties who are likely to feel threatened/voice strong opinions against the project?
If so, for what reasons, do you think?
Who are the primary/strong supporters for this project?
=============================================
Please review them and leave your comment, correction, enhancement or addition. Any feedback is highly welcome!
And please lookout for the other sections also; thank you very much in advance.
Every participant will receive the result of this initiative if wanted.

Whats more important that supporters are the ones opposing so I would ask:
- Which stakeholders are opposing to the project and why ?

Hello Rami,
i am a bit irritated here, cause aren't those two questions here exactly what you are asking for:
"May there be any parties who are likely to feel threatened/voice strong opinions against the project?
If so, for what reasons, do you think?"
Or did i miss something here?
Regards,
Markus

Don't be irritated Markus :-) Everyone has their own opinion for interpreting things.
Here is what I think: In a sense, yes, they are the same question but from another point of view, they are not.
If you want my advise, divide it into two questions, be ause people threateaned is totally different than people opposing. Some people might be threateaned but not opposing so maybe you can write them like this:
- Which stakeholders might be threateaned and why ?
- Which stakeholders might be opposing and why ?

Hello Anupam,
well that one is interesting, cause this question should be cleared already before that initiating meeting we are discussing about, right? Because we should have this meeting exactly with that person you asking for here, or am i wrong?
