The Sponsor is someone in your company who pays for the project.

Client and Customer definition is a matter of organizational strategy. You have to search inside your organization for those definitions or you have to ask to somebody at strategial level about the definitions. You have to take care about that. Usually those are defined in the framework of quality. About Sponsor, take care to select a person who will keep the initiative from politics decision and behaivour inside the organization.

Dear Elaria,

Based on the given information by you, the client organization is the one which entered into a contract with your organization, may be the mall, your project's product users might be called as the customer as a whole whether they are in the client organization or external to client organization, but it is not clear about both sponsors in your organization and client organization. If there are persons in both organization who are in the senior management and who supported strongly initiating your project, they can be considered as sponsors. You can have a sponsor who supports strongly your project in your organization and client organization might have their own sponsor who supported their initiatives "mobile application of the mall". In your case, the marketing team of client organization is sponsoring department to your project and the client organization, let's say, the mall is the client as well as sponsoring organization to your project.

I would use this scenario:

Sponsor: Head of the marketing department (he/she is the one most interested in the project result and in a position to positively influence the project regarding other areas in the mall)
Customer: Mall (the one who will pay for the project)
Client: Market team (they will use the application to show offers, movies and shops location), and Mall visitants (the application has to be usefull to them)

But Sergio's comment is highly relevant, since you have to understand how these concepts are applied to your organization.

Hi Elaria, Few things: 1. Customer may or may not be a Sponsor - in most cases it is not. 2. Customer gives the requirements and accepts the product of the project. 3. Sponsor provides the funds for the project. 4. End user (or simply called user) is someone who uses the product created by the project.
