Join us this Friday at 9:00 am PST on twitter and follow hashtag #PMChat as I co-host a twitter chat with Dr. Penny Pullan on her new book virtual leadership.

Welcome to the 21st Century; are you a virtual leader leading diverse team’s, multiple projects and across multiple time zones?

Do you find it challenging and want to learn more about some strategies to address some of these challenges?

Join me on 12/3 at 9:00 am PT/12:00 ET as I co-host with Dr. Penny Pullan and discuss her new book “Virtual Leadership.”

Here is our lineup of questions so you can prepare to participate. Also, I’ll post a twitter survey daily to gauge some input for the chat and Penny will share the real results.

Twitter Chat Questions:

1. Virtual teams: Penny uses a definition of these as teams with at least one person remote from the others geographically. How many are you involved in?

2. How much of your week do you spend working on virtual projects, as opposed to collocated projects?

3. What do you find helpful about virtual working?

4. What are the challenges of virtual working?

5. What help you to remain human when leading virtual teams and to remember that other team members are human?

6. Penny suggest that virtual leaders need to start with understanding and working on themselves to develop. How have you/do you do this?

7. A key challenge: Wide time zones. How do you handle them and what works for you?

8. Another key challenge: Language differences. How do you handle these and what works for you?

9. Final key challenge: Cultural differences. How do you handle these and what works for you?

The subject is very interesting and some questions are really core like benefits and challenges.

I just noticed its PST time - I won't be able to join then as I am in Vancouver and with the time difference, it won't work unfortunately.
