How one should begin to learn the actual risk management that is prevalent in supply chain industry?
Further, will learning and publishing papers on the subject will be helpful in anyone's career?

Thanks and regards,

Hi Adhijeet,
I work in risk management, for years, but didn't start there. You can start in many part of project management then get to Risk. Reading on the subject will get you more knowledgable. From your experience in project you'll be more and more ready for risk. You might want to look at knowledge in statistics also.

There is many path to risk management, One a young guy was put in a risk management role, is youth didn't make it look "serious"
Merci monsieur!

Abhijeet,

Why don't you submit your content for review to local chapter? Also, you can network with local PMs for guidance, mentoring, etc. We had a session last month, and it was really worth.

Thanks!
Great advice, thanks sir. I will definitely consult a local chapter or PM.

In my opinion, thanks God of any other force you think drives the Universe, some people that have the opportunity to interact as volunteers in the PMI´s standard creation and review have taken success in achieving one goal: put the work "Project" before some of the process name. So, besides great comments above, what is your goal? To be a Project Risk Manager? or To be a corporate Risk Manager? That is the starting point.

Hello Sir, from what I have learnt, I feel that preparing myself to graduate into risk management will open new opportunities for me. As far as project management is concerned, I amply have enough opportunities, and experience, in terms of scheduling, costing, and procurements. But, my company, being an Indian public sector enterprise, rarely provides any opportunity in risk management. Therefore, I was giving a thought for this field of project management. Further, I was planning to move from India and was considering to take up risk management as my new job.
