There isn't a field of endeavor that I can think of that could not benefit from effective project management, from the obvious areas of IT, Product Development, R&D, and Construction to the development of treatment plans and tracking patient progress (certainly an uncertain endeavor) in a therapy setting and the scheduling of operating rooms in a hospital -- a classic multi-project problem with the operating room as the limiting resource.
My suggestion is to find an industry or field that excites you and use your PM education to improve its effectiveness. Saving Changes...
