Leading projects on site, not only in Europe, also in USA, but with remote teams in a different time zone.
I've realized that there is a common feeling in the on-site teams try to avoid Monday morning meetings and Fridays afternoon. Engage them and trying to explain that virtual teams are also in OUR team, is not always easy.
From your point of view, what is the worst day/time for a team meeting? Why? Saving Changes...
My experience is the best is Monday(first working day) morning and the worst is Friday(last working day ) afternoon.
When done on Monday it set the week, remind everybody of shorter term priorities. Friday people forget after the weekend! who want to write the meeting report at that time!

Vincent, you are only that said the best is Monday morning.
I like Mondays to set the week, but I used to avoid mornings because some people are a little sleepy or chatting about the weekend.

Personally, I avoid scheduling recurring meetings on Mondays or Fridays. (These days are often statutory holidays or taken as vacation.) I also prefer my meetings in the afternoon, to give participants a chance to prepare.

valuable experience Stephane, most of participants agreed with you and with what Mariah have realized. so community culture must be taken into consideration to arrange timing of an efficient meetings.

Well, it depends on the organization culture. If you ask me, my personal experience is like Stephane stated above: avoid mondays and fridays. That is the average of situations I have faced but is not the rule for me. What I ever do is asking to my stakeholders. Saving Changes...

I'd say definitely Fridays are the toughest b/c of a lot of people either leaving early, or unfocused. Monday's can be tough, but are far easier to schedule. Plus there seems to be expectation there will be meetings on Monday's. They may not like it, but is expected. Whereas, Friday almost seems to be expected to be meeting free. Scheduling meetings on Friday, especially afternoon, is like scheduling a lunch meeting. Saving Changes...

Try to avoid monday mornings and friday afternoons (and saturdays, thanks to Wade ;-)), my arguments for this are the same as already posted.
For any other time it depends on your goals: Would you like to discuss about the results of the last week and the work for the upcoming week, then do it on monday afternoon or tuesday if it is a statutory holiday. If you would like to have "only" a regular meeting to get the current status, it is on you to decide for a time. Saving Changes...
