Leading projects on site, not only in Europe, also in USA, but with remote teams in a different time zone.
I've realized that there is a common feeling in the on-site teams try to avoid Monday morning meetings and Fridays afternoon. Engage them and trying to explain that virtual teams are also in OUR team, is not always easy.

From your point of view, what is the worst day/time for a team meeting? Why?

Friday can be considered the least effective day as most of the people will be planning for weekend and most of the critical things agreed during the meeting might go for a toss!
Monday also is not preferable as team members will be settling down and working through their own to-do lists so it will be difficult to gather people and also they will not be in a position to give their update / feedback since their minds are pre-occupied.

Mondays meetings are required , because the goals need to be set for the week but better to have it in the 2nd half. Friday regular meetings are not very well accepted by team but are required many times especially during a pressing period to know the performance of the week .In past, I scheduled a Friday regular meetings with key SMEs to discuss various improvement opportunities in the process and I found the team loosing interest in this meeting after 2 / 3 weeks and somehow or other, the meeting got cancelled every week. I moved it to Wednesday later on..
