I really do not understand what you liked to say with "function point analysis of the project requirements" because function points is a method you can use to estimate the whole project. But no matter than that, I used and I am using function points including all the customizations to use it with other methods like use case points, story points, etc. The best site to get information is http://www.ifpug.org which is the group that was created for people like me that is using the method from years ago. All the information related to FP use from 1970 was loaded in that site.

@Sergio,

Apologies for not structuring my heading correctly. I meant the same thing you specified in your post. I intend to find the documents and methodologies which will eventually help to estimate any project requirements using Function Point Analysis apart from other methods (Agile, Waterfall).

No problem Prolay. What we do is to use FP as the basement of our estimations because is the method where you have lot of information from many years ago that will help you to adjust some of the methods variables that will impact the final estimation. We have five different life cycles defined and all needed to select one of them to do something. What we do is to use Use Case Points sometimes and Story Points sometimes. After that we use FP to adjust our estimations. You can find lot of information about how those methods are linked, mainly inside the Cargnegie Mellon SEI. The other tool we use is Barry Bohem´s Cone of Uncertainty. We are using those methods for things that are not software product related too.
