SH requirements

Dears,
A question regarding the SH requirements in term of communication. Are they included in the Requirements Documentations, the Communication Management Plan or in the SH Management plan?

Another question/concern : I am not very comfortable with the Inputs and outputs of "Manage SH engagement" and "Control SH engagement"... Why is there so much focus on Issues log and Change requests? I understand the importance of SH to ensure success of the project, but I don't understand well why they are not considered into the Communication Knowledge Area.... Any clue?

Alexndra, are you preparing the PMI exam? If you are doing this please let me give you the best piece of advaice I could: what you do as project manager in your work does not matter. What matters is the way to answer the questions and what the PMI stated inside the PMBOK. Do you take my sence?

English is not my native language but if I understood well then yes, is as you mentioned in your last paragraph. Obviously is my recommendation and perhaps lot of other people do not agree. In that case just let me say that I have teached lots of exam courses from years and some years ago I stopped doing this because I am working with the PMI in the quality assurance group which is creating the exam questions. If you are preparing the PMP certification other recommendation is to prepare asking lot of exam questions mainly situational questions. When you get 75% or more of accurancy systematically then you are prepare to take the exam.

Regarding your question: communication requirements is one of the componets inside the project requirements. You gather communication requirements when you are working on KA # 10, 10.1.

You are welcome Alexandra. Yes, spanish. I am living in Argentina, South America. The key is to understand how you have to answer the questions, what some people named "the PMI way". So, if you ask me, it is critical to make lot of questions, perhaps more than 1200-2000. And situational questions is a must because you have to understand the point in time where you are located. For example, to understand what is first: quality control or scope validation.

Nevertheless, it is really what I want to concentrate on, simulations of exams, but I had a remark from my trainer saying that I was wrong to easy questions regarding Inputs/ outputs and Tools & Technics..
As I can't remember all by heart, I try to find analogies, to understand the meaning of the process, and so, be able to select the right answer.
Could you recommend simulation tools that have approximately the same level of the PMP questions?

Do not learn anything by heart. Make sure you do understand the concepts instead because 75% of the questions are situational based and depends on how deep you understand the concepts and in many cases there is more than one right answer and you have to chose what is best.

for PMI exam preparation I fully agree with Sergio and Rami. You have to understand the concepts.
And to your second question: This is also part of the concepts. Stakeholders are all people involved in your project, not only team members explicitly dedicated but also people from customer side (sponsor, decision makers, opinion leaders, maybe end users as requestors) and from your company, at least your sponsor, human resources providers and (temporary) experts. In a lot of cases you need decisions from them for issues you could not solve yourself or expert input to make a decision. And for changes you need a decision also from stakeholders, e.g. from the original requestor who has now to be comfortable with the change.

Don't worry, it's normal.
Keep calm and do simulations as suggusted above. But do it not the whole day and esp. not until the last minute.
I wish you the best for your exam, a Happy New Year with a great party to come to it (and relax a little bit). :-)

A short additional advice: You can find a lot of threads about exam preparation here in "Project Management Central", search e.g. "exam". Most of them describe the preparation by learning, but don't forget your individual preparation on exam day: first be well rested, be on time at exam location, do a "brain dump" during the 20 min preparation time (there are also threads describing how to do it, search for "brain dump") and don't get nervous when you don't know the answer for a question, mark it for later processing, skip it and come back to it at the end. You have enough time to do so.
