I’m trying to decide what sort of online training to provide for some software I’ve created. Here are the options I’m considering so far:
web tutorial a series of How-to articles live webcast seminars searchable database of tips and FAQs
Which format do you prefer?
TIA for your input.

Mike,
Personally, I like web-tutorial, articles and FAQs but then I do not know if I am one of your your target customers or not.
To decide what type of training you should provide you would need to understand how your target customers acquire knowledge and then you would need to find out how much it is going to cost you. Then select the most effective combination. Just my 2 cents. Saving Changes...
Live online seminar is one of the best if the participants of the training are shattered across the Globe. Saving Changes...

Hi Mike, I like all of the options you are considering. My favorite, however, is one that is not one yor list. Have you considered intelligent agents and bots..? They are especially good for complex applications. Intelligent agents and bots reside transparently with your application. They can provide not only a virtual assistant to guide your users through how to use your software application, but they can also provide usage statistics on how your application is being used and areas within your application that users are having difficulty with. If I had a choice between a tutorial, how to article, seminar, FAQ, or an On Demand virtual assistant, I would prefer the virtual assistant. Hope this helps. I will vote for webcasts. Then tutorials. Saving Changes...
