I am in the very early stages of evaluating GatherSpace and ReqTest. My high level objective is to be able to create a Business Requirement and have that same requirement re-used in multiple projects across the entire organization. Are there any other software application tools I should be considering?

Hi Rodney, below is a list of various options to review.

What are the requirements, or supporting objectives for this tool? Is it simply reusability? There are differences in what the different vendors offer. With a more definitive list of 'must haves', it will be easier to whittle down the list to a viable select few.

Hi Rodney, here is a link to an extensive tool study we did at Seilevel - then made the results publicly available. We don't have allegiances to any particular tool vendor so we could do an unbiased evaluation of them against one another. Our criteria are prioritized for what we care about, but you could download the xl and reprioritize/reweight the criteria for what you care about, and it’ll auto-score for you accordingly. You could add additional criteria too but then you’d have to go find out how each tool supports the new criteria. Within the report you’ll find a link to the xl file with more detailed scores.. Let me know if you have any questions.

You should consider tools that offer repository and cross-project traceability. Tools like Caliber and Rational are great for enterprise requirement management.
