Information on Apple's WebObjects

I would like to get some information/opinions on WebObjects and/or feedback on experience with this development tool.

The consulting firm I worked for -- Ubermind, Inc -- used WebObjects and we created a training course on it. The developers swore by it. My impression was that it was kind of high overhead and you needed to be solid in it to get the advantages out of it.
