Following Steve Draheim's earlier question on recommendations for books on change management, I wondered if there were any other recommendations for the other practice areas or leadership areas?

My goal is to try an read something every month.

Thanks Sergio & Stephane, I do have 'the art of war', I should dig it out. All great ideas on the leadership front, any books on the practice areas that have proved useful?

It's good to think outside the box and read other thought provoking books.

If you are leading "knowledge workers", then I do recommend the classic book:
"Peopleware" by Timothy Lister and Tom DeMarco.

A very nice book in the borderland between leadership, project management and risk management is
"Waltzing with Bears" by Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister.

If you are into software project management, I do also recommend:
"Rapid Development" by Steve McConnel
and of course the classical book:
"The Mythical Man-Month" by Frederick P. Brooks.

I recommend The Conscious Project Leader by Colin D Ellis. The book aims to shift the methodology focus common in project management, and argues strongly for the trio of leadership, culture and methods.
