From the advice given to me, the goal of acquiring the CSM should be to eventually earn the CSP, OR, simply put the efforts towards PMI-ACP. For increasing value as a multi-faceted project manager, my recommendation is for PMI-ACP.
Andrew, For sure I will target ACP if I go for the CSM as I was given the same advice. It won't hurt to take the CSM first because as Stephane mentioned, it will give you at least 14 PDU's that will count towards the ACP Credential.

Good point. I had assumed having the PMP covered the pre-req's, but looking specifically at the requirements I was incorrect
I see those hours from the CSM training will translate to contact hours for the PMI-ACP requirements, and additionally, count as 14 PDU's toward your PMP cycle. It looks like you can fill out the remaining 7 hours with podcasts and webinars.
Good Luck.

Rami, I still think that SCRUM is for IT industry, and I understand your closer to the construction industry.
Is there a SCRUM adapted to other industry?

Vincent, I read about SCRUM briefly but I believe it applies for all fields, not necessarily IT especially that it can help you with your ACP credentials. Why do you think the Scrum is only for IT industry ?

I think it is adapted to the Software industry. There is certainly an equivalent that is not specifically adapted to the Software industry. The definition on in Wikipedia is "Scrum is an iterative and incremental agile software development framework for managing product development", may be not perfect.
Agile might not be specific to the IT industry but many of the methodes and tools are. I would look at LEAN!
