Hi,

I am working in the Training Dept of a top notch IT services company in India. While there are a lot of benchmarks available for tracking quality, process maturity, etc, for core development, there are fewer for the support functions. Could anyone suggest me what standards are used for improving training processes? Guidelines, Industry trends or metrics would do.

Dear Pallav

I recently visited Bangalore to compare training processes in India with those in Australia.

As you are aware it is a very complex environment, but a couple of thoughts:

Program quality: Is the program accredited? e.g. in Australia most training is directed towards the National Competency Standards for Project Management.

Have a look at: http://www.acpm.act.edu.au/award/standards.asp

Trainer Quality: Is the training provider/trainer accredited and recommended?

Outcome verification:

Delivery Quality: Are you using an assessment questionairre to measure participant satisfaction? Are you using thrid party or peer review of the trainer performance.

Outcome Quality: Are you testing the business environment to see that the environmental changes sought by the training are being achieved?

Feel free to email for further discussion.

Bad luck with the cricket. Your team put up an outstanding performance.
