Hello everyone,

I work for a multi business company. I'd like to know if an correct approach to portfolio management would implies:

1) define only one corporate portfolio

2) many corporate/business portfolio defined acording to the related contributions of some components to strategic goals

3) define a portfolio by business

Thanks for sharing!

You can have multiple portfolios based on each business area with a rollup of all portfolios. Let's see what others have to share.

Thanks, Naomi. I really appreciate your comments.
In that case, are there a concept or name for the rollup of portfolios?
And should the rollup of all portfolios be managed like another kind of portfolio, for example, priorizating the components which integrated it?

I would have one portfolio by business, one rollup for the group.

All business share the same team? That would make a difference

Thanks Vincent. Let's me know what would be the different? Many projects share critical resources, due to the company has a semi integrated operation. It is a quite complex enviroment. Moreover the company have an executive board integrated by the businesses heads.
