Advice needed from peers (posted anonymously for obvious reasons).

A PM is currently working at company A - for one year and counting. Company B wishes to hire him/her. Company A uses the PM 50% for his/her PM skills, and 50% as SME. Company B is engaging in an effort of creating a new PMO, thereby the need of hiring several pure PM - not SME.

Regardless of the job conditions, would you consider a career path given these circumstances?

It really depends on your personal career objectives AND the organizational maturity of Company B. Just because a company wants to establish a PMO doesn't mean it will succeed in doing so sustainably or that it will be a positive experience for those who join it...

Personally i prefer PM + SME role because not many can do this dual role....

I have seen enough PMO setup in big to small organisations looks fantastic outside ...if you go close not impressive....

End of the it depends on individuals and with their ability & aspirations

In public forums people will give thousands of ideas and thoughts ....

You have to live your life.. on your own way.

Wishes to you what ever you decide to be successful on that

Company B could be a risk but the experience gained from establishing a PMO would be invaluable.
