In 2000 the publishing company I worked for decided that instead of writing and editing our educational materials, we would outsource the work. In an instant, I went from being an editor to being a project manager.
I myself did not decide to become a Project Manager but was fortunate enough to work for a company that offered me the opportunity to do so. I had been working for the same company for a number of years as a field supervisor in bridge construction when there was a need for a more field knowledgeable Projector Manager Assistant. They offered me the position which I accepted and have now moved on to managing my own projects. It has been an ever changing and learning experience that I feel will never end for if you stop learning you will set yourself up for failure. Saving Changes...
After graduation in computational mechanics I discovered working in simulation that I prefer working with teams. Switching companies I grew into the position by taking over more and more tasks of the Project manager. I agree with Jerry, it is a topic, which seems to have no end to learning, so it won't get boring that fast. Saving Changes...
