Project management Oh! You are my Love
You are gift that comes from above!
I love you with all your phases and processes
I pray that our love progresses!
Although I am constrained by time, budget and scope
The quality of our love is not affected, I hope!
It starts with initiating
This is more like negotiating
Then it comes to planning
That’s when the romance starts happening!
When you ask me to start executing
I know it’s not the time for procrastinating!
When it comes to monitor and to control
Oh my love, let me patrol!
Then comes the time to close
The romance is over for now, yet I need another dose!

Hello Marjorie: What a great way to share the love with my fellow PM's! ....and Flavious wrote an awesome poem! I won't be as eloquent as he was, but this is what I love about project management........I get to use my organizational skills and best practices to support great teams in making successful projects for a hospital that cares for patients in my community. I'm not a doctor or a nurse, but my efforts are combined with those of other talented people to create excellent healthcare for my family and friends who at times need the services of this hospital. It is an exciting job that does not get tiring or boring, I am challenged every day, I learn about new technology and support physicians and nurses in making workflow changes that improve the quality of healthcare today. It is true that PM is complex and challenging, but it is also a great adventure full of memories and so is LOVE so yes, I love PM !
I started at the age of 15, I had so much responsibility thrust on my shoulders due to personal circumstances so I had to manage my life properly in order to succeed so my first project was: Future Success. Responsibility and leadership became part of my life.
I love Project Management because:
1- YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. You are not just a number, NO - You absolutely can make a difference and that alone makes me feel great.
2- Part of why I love being a project manager is that I always like to coach people, teach people, work with people, listen to people, build with people and lead the team by example.
3- It is challenging and motivating at the same time. Unique complex passion.
4- There is always room for being creative.
5- You interact with many people (Different backgrounds and nationalities).
6- Project Management is a very diversified field as everyday you learn something new, everyday you can improve on something.
7- Everyday you go to work to build on where you reached the previous day until you end up with a fruitful end result which make you feel proud because it will serve generations.
Many times, when I pass by some projects I was in charge of, I stop and feel really proud and I feel prouder when I see how much it was beneficial to the end users, how many additional jobs it created and the list goes on.
Give me one reason not to love project management or being a project manager ... IMHO, it is the best job on earth because the limit is the sky in this field ! Saving Changes...
I love Project Management because it's what I call "deliciously complex." Managing a team has an endless number of variables and multiple correct answers. It's more difficult than any other problem I know. (There are humans involved after all....) It's like doing a jigsaw puzzle with the colored side down. Great stuff!

I love Project Management because it gives me a good opportunity to face and find solution to real and practical day to day execution challenges that I come across in managing the Project successfully .It gives me a platform to interact with all the project stakeholders and contribute my share in managing the Project.
