Can you guys please provide a template (sample one) to display the status of a testing project?So far I have been using QC/ALM to generate reports, but this is the first time, am having to use an excel as we do not have a test management tool for my project in my current Organization.

It is simple. Just include Total test cases #, # of executed, # of In progress, # of Pass, # of Failed. You can also convert passed and executed test cases to % completed.
Include defect details like number of open defects, defect name, severity, Target resolution date, status.
You can include graphs in the report if you want.
