To be a project management consultant, you must master the art of many behavioural and technical aspects of handling a project. There is no simulation to this, you have to go through it all before you can provide consulting to others.
Offcourse to start with, you can start looking for case studies which are amply available on the internet.
It would be a good idea to learn the project management tools such as pert/cpm/ccm/evm through available practical problems,
