Do ProjectManagement.com members living the same area ever gather for face-to-face meetings?

I see various events listed on the ‘Online and In-Person Events’ link, but nothing to suggest that local meetups between members ever occur. I’ve only been on the site a few days, so am I perhaps overlooking something?

Hi Eric,

Local Chapter meetings.

ProjectManagement.com is owned by PMI. Local Chapter meetings will inherently have online community members at local community events. That said, there is a population of the online community which is more active, leaving a smaller percentage of those members to have the opportunity to meet in person.

Ah, I didn't realize PMI owned ProjectManagement.com! I thought they were separate but closely affiliated organizations.

Depends on where you live! In the DC area, www.pmiwdc.org is a large organizational offshoot of pmi and has a very big local community. So if your are in the DC area, you can find many face-to-face local meetings, conferences, and networking events to attend. Best thing to do is search for a local community through PMI to see if there is one in your area.

Meetup would be great; I've met many folks here in person but mostly know many from online conversations, projects and book projects.

Local Chapter meetings are the best - The meet all the time and do dinner / networking events.

Yes, PM.com is the website for the PMI Community. If you check on your PMI dashboard, there is a tab on the left bottom side for pm.com and it will give you a summary of your profile here.

You have an interesting point

Do we need local chapters? Using Meetup we could achieve or complement PM,com!!
