I've never been in a global conference, and I would like that if some of you attended and/or presented share their experiences and tips. Saving Changes...

I've been to conference before but not PMI one. I am looking forward for this conference but not too sure if I will be able to make it for so many reasons but I am pretty sure it will be interesting. Saving Changes...
I've never been, but...I should confess I'm thinking about presenting my candidature.
But, I have a lot of questions, like..how many people attend to these kinds of sessions? I did some speeches from 10 to 150 attendees, but if they are talking of thousands...I've never done before.
On the other hand, I'm not famous, it means I'm a Project Manager, without books or famous blogs, sites...will I have some opportunity or is too early in my professional career to present my candidature?
For all these reasons, I would like to know more info from the attendees and the speakers.

Every PM has an unique experience, so we all have something we can teach other PMs. You don't need to be a 'recognized expert' to speak at a conference. Pick some aspect of project management you know well and go for it!

It's never too early Mayte - Believe in yourself and go for it. This is how it starts and hopefully one day you will be famous - It all starts with a first step.
Moreover, you are a well known active member of this community with an overall influence of more than 80 so for me this is enough besides the fact that you're motivated and ambitious. Saving Changes...
Mayte:
Certainly review the MQs and consider going through the process; again it's rigorous so field the best top notch speakers for the PMI Conference. It's worth attending if you've never been.

Hi Mayte,
I had volunteered at agile alliance conferences in the past in person, attended to sessions, and participating also on submission reviews as an evaluator.
I agree with others, it is never too early, just prepare and submit.
If there is an example submission from previous years they provided as guidelines, take a close look at what made sense to review committee and tailor your submission accordingly.
If you have other presentations, videos... have those links and references handy or part of your submission for the evaluators to get a good sense of you.
Usually, the submission forms ask the presenter how many people they plan to present or give a workshop, so they will have an overall idea. It is not a confirmation though.
Good luck:)

Thank you for your comments.
Regarding the other presentations, I've asked to my chapter, they filmed my last educational session for the chapter and I think that will be great to attach.

On the project management podcast series, Cornelius Fichtner attends and interviews speakers, most recently from the PMI California Global Congress He also has a short video of his experiences there (I think was a different conference). Really fun to watch. Worth the listen to his podcast. Short, fun, and full of great content.
I suggest Mayte b/c it will give you some insight to speaker sessions, attendance, topics, and some of the behind the scenes stuff.
Plus worth PDU's. I learn a lot from them, and the guest are great - you'll even recognize some of them!
