I've never been in a global conference, and I would like that if some of you attended and/or presented share their experiences and tips. Saving Changes...

I've never been, but...I should confess I'm thinking about presenting my candidature.
But, I have a lot of questions, like..how many people attend to these kinds of sessions? I did some speeches from 10 to 150 attendees, but if they are talking of thousands...I've never done before.
On the other hand, I'm not famous, it means I'm a Project Manager, without books or famous blogs, sites...will I have some opportunity or is too early in my professional career to present my candidature?
For all these reasons, I would like to know more info from the attendees and the speakers.
Every PM has an unique experience, so we all have something we can teach other PMs. You don't need to be a 'recognized expert' to speak at a conference. Pick some aspect of project management you know well and go for it!

Well said Eric - Totally Agree ! Saving Changes...
On the project management podcast series, Cornelius Fichtner attends and interviews speakers, most recently from the PMI California Global Congress He also has a short video of his experiences there (I think was a different conference). Really fun to watch. Worth the listen to his podcast. Short, fun, and full of great content.
I suggest Mayte b/c it will give you some insight to speaker sessions, attendance, topics, and some of the behind the scenes stuff.
Plus worth PDU's. I learn a lot from them, and the guest are great - you'll even recognize some of them!
This discussion ended focused in my personal candidature, and this wasn't my first idea.
I would like that all kind of participants, from attendees, speakers, selection committee, participate in this discussion in order to encourage "non-expert or non-famous people" to participate.
There are tons of people here super qualified to participate and share their knowledge, with amazing communication skills, but they are shy or feel overwhelmed when reading the announcements. Saving Changes...
Mayte, I concur with others here. Everyone has to start somewhere. The only way to get better is practice and present. Good luck if you decide to submit to become a presenter.

Demetrius, thank you for your comments.
I did last month a presentation in my chapter, and I wanted to use the video that the chapter recorded to submit my candidature.
Due to technical issues, it doesn't have sound.
And as Naomi pointed the process is very rigorous and now I don't know...
