I consider this subject the most important role for PMOs at this days. However, I found a few references attesting pratical results about this one. Any further staff will be nice.
Tks.

Hi Sergio, project selection is a very important and useful PMO process. Though many PM and SDLC methodologies typically begin after project selection with initiating, most PMOs have project selection processes for both project ideas that originate within the PMO as well as for project ideas that originate outside the PMO. These project selection processes often include work outputs for such things as the project work request, the initial summary of requirements, the business case, and even the project selection scorecard that aligns and scores the project idea vis a vis project selection guidelines and measurable criteria. While some PMOs may be more administrative in nature and not involved in the management approval process for new project initiatives, most PMOs are. For them, this is business as usual and part of their strategic charter. Hope this helps. -- Mark Perry, VP of Customer Care, BOT International Saving Changes...
