I also like the late comer need to bring coffee and donut to all for the next meeting.
Hi Vincent: One of the hospitals where I work is a Catholic hospital. All meetings begin with a reflection - a reading or prayer that helps everyone focus their attention and centers themselves. So, I often ask the late comer to to the reflection for the next meeting. That has also worked! Coffee, donuts and chocolate are good too!!!

Many of our clients in Canada are non-for-profit Organizations and the meeting starts with a prayer and there is also coffee, cookies, and so on. I agree it helps you focus and create a good environment.
As we say, late comer will take one for the team next meeting and bring everything :D

Hi Rami: At first I was very uncomfortable with the reflection and prayer at the beginning of meetings, now I realize it is a great advantage to start in a way that centers and focuses our concentration. I think it makes us more effective.
Hi Sungjoon - I really like that one too! How far in advance of meetings do you send out your agenda? I always try to send out 24-hours in advance if possible.
Lots of great points, here's a follow up - how do you introduce the ground rules for your meetings?

Hi Liana: I believe ground rules should be created by the team at the very start of a project, but many of my meetings are not with the original people I started with, or are subgroups of the project where they were not involved with the ground rules. By chance, have you also experienced that? How do you introduce the ground rules for your meetings?

Do not schedule meetings without an agenda. Let me know my role in the meeting. Can the meeting actions be done with one email or phone call.

Bill: I agree with you - always have an agenda and send it out well enough in advance - I hate receiving an agenda 5 minutes before the meeting! Your point about knowing your role is also very insightful. We really cannot be productive if we don't even understand our part in the project. Great points!

My favorite and most important one is: Stick to the Agenda and Time Frame.
Hi Rami - that is very important. I agree totally. Be known for always starting and stopping on time and sticking to the agenda. Saving Changes...
