What is your favorite Project Tracking tool besides Microsoft Office for Agile Project Management when you have a team that is not dedicated full time to your particular project?

I'm not a fan of Jira. It's a chore to setup and people have to be trained because it is not intuitive. If you don't code your work items correctly, you have to search and search and search to find them. The last place I worked where it was deployed, people got into shouting matches over Jira. It was not worth the headache.

I MUCH prefer CA Rally. Much simpler to use and no tears from the staff.

Trello is good too.

Hi everyone

Is this Jira exclusive for agile projects? or maybe could be useful for waterfall methodology?

Thanks
Hi Natalia,

Jira is not designed for waterfall.

Trello for smaller projects.

Jira for larger projects. But be careful to keep it as simple as possible. Avoid the temptation to create a complex workflow. It's too much trouble to maintain and keep it from breaking. You can create some useful charts with Jira, but again, don't let it take up too much of your time.

A physical Scrum board works better than an electronic one for communication and engagement within the project team and with key stakeholders. I keep wanting the power of an electronic board, but I keep getting better results with a physical board. Unless you're managing a virtual team.

I have used Jira and Asana. But in terms of price, functionality and tracking nTask works well.
You can check the features here: https://taskreports.com/ntask-review/

Free tools such as Trello for Kanban task management and Team Gantt for planning can be great.
check out this tool, it's an HRMS tool with packed features like payroll system, attendance management, leave management etc.

For scheduling I prefer Primavera and MS Projects in second place. As an integrated project management/tracking tool I have used B2W, E-builder, Salesforce, and more. Still have not found the “perfect” integrated project management tool. I am currently leading the implementation of Primavera Cloud and it has a lot of potential to become the “perfect” integrated management tool (But it is not there yet).
At one point, I even developed an integrated project management tool that would do everything a PM really needs. Due to lack of financial support I placed that effort in the backburner. I am still improving the tool but only work on it part-time and for fun!
The problem with all existing products is that they are either account centric or project centric. The tool needs to support both models. Also, any integrated project management tool must have a robust scheduling tool included. Project health (i.e. Earned Value) need to work with a project schedule against an approved baseline.
My rule of thumb, if you have the right tool, you or anyone else, will never have to enter the same information in two or more applications.
