We are looking at introducing some form of cross-organisational community to enable project managers to draw on expertise, ensure lessons are shared and improve our overall effectiveness. I've heard various stories about successful and unsuccessful attempts to kick start this type of cross-organisational community focussed on project management competency.
What has your experience been? What are the pitfalls? What are the opportunities (although I suspect they will be organisational specific)? I would welcome your experience in this area.
