Trends and Practices in setting up a PM consultancy

I am preparing to move away from a dedicate PM job in a full time position within a major corporation. My intent is to start up my own PM practice.
Can anybody suggest how to best understand the options most used in contractual agreements for consultancy work (e.g., hourly vs. per diem, bonus clause for early termination, on budget, etc)? Saving Changes...

You might find that depending upon the type of PM practice you set up, the market rates and engagement approaches might be slightly different. Can you elaborate just a bit further..?
