Is coaching become new sickness with managers in corporate ?

I see lot of managers in the name of coaching employees they are forcing/boring with all nonsense , We should have right objective, tools, metrics and measures that's all

To coach people corporate is not school/educational institute.......

Please provide your inputs and experience

In my experience Executives and Managers are usually looking for things to make them seem (not necessarily be) better leaders. Coaching underlings makes Executives appear to care for and relate to the common worker, and might be Executives' attempt to distance themselves from their negative image as overpaid, self-absorbed and greedy individuals who receive large payouts even when they get fired.

Managers should definitely coach / mentor / develop employees, but that doesn't mean they're all good at it.

One important reason for managers to coach is succession planning - building up the people that report to them so that there are qualified candidates to fill an unexpected vacancy in management.

Coaching could help to develop some skills in the teams, even to leaders
