What types of technical role(s)?
Generally, best to have some past experience with IT so to have enough background to follow the conversations, understand the playing field, facilitate decisions, etc. Saving Changes...

On your CV it appears you worked with technical people and technical documentation (“prepare Detailed DCS System Architecture”). Most IT businesses will hire a Project Manager who can understand technical matters and relate to technical people, so highlight your ability to do this in your resume and cover letter. While my first backgound was software engineering I have leding lot of projects and programs in a high diverse markets. My recommendation is: 1-project management is project management no matter the market. I mean, if you follow PMI to perform as project manager then you have to follow the same things no matter the market you are working on. 2-you must not be a subject matter expert BUT you have to adquire knowledged about the market you will be assigned as project manager. That mean you have to perform a most of the time forgotten task for lot of project managers: elicitation. You have to adquire knowledge about the domain (terms, process, stakeholders, locations, strategy), you have to adquire knowledge about the environment (for example using PESTLE analysis for external and Porter`s Five Forces for internal), you have to adquire knowledge about solutions other companies in the same domain are using to solve business problems, you have to adquire knwoledge about stakeholders that perform key roles inside other companies in the domain and mainly "the pain" those stakeholders are facing right now. ALL THIS STUFF before you start working as project/program manager into a new market or including the market where you have previous expertisse. Saving Changes...

Things are different in India compare to other parts of the world, it is not easy to switch industry here. IT companies are aragont to the core /too smart even experienced people go through hard time's.
1. They look for relevant experience
2. Multiple rounds of interviews and asking stupid/irrelevant questions
3. Unemployment - For one position millions of people will apply /compete
4. Contract job's /employment are second grade
Not demotivating just telling you the ground realties...
Think twice before you make decisions once you make work on till you succeed
Tip : Look into Naukri, search pmo job's go through JD's that will help you to learn about expectations, based on that prepare and learn..
