It is a personal skill, improved by proper training and education.
Hence, whether it is hard to achieve or not really depends at the first place on the person himself and then the amount of training/education he/she receives.
Some people are naturally talented in this area and may require minimal training or orientation while others may suffer to master this power.

Depends on the person. For some, it comes easier.

I think negotiation becomes more instinctive and therefore easier if we make our objective mutual gain for all parties, instead of how much we can gain for ourselves.

The eternal question: what happens when other parties does not want a mutual agreement...

This is a must question/answer for students to understand... Not an easy one though...

The approach should then be to help the other parties understand the benefits of reaching a mutually beneficial agreement.
Always remember, that if they didn't see any benefit to your involvement, then you wouldn't be a part of the negotiation in the first place. You are bringing value.
The satisfaction of all parties, benefits all parties.

I took a course on negotiation tactics once, that was incredibly interesting.
I'd agree that it can be a difficult skill to develop.

Negotiation is a skill that is developed over time. What comes to my mind when I hear/read the word negotiation/negotiate--the power to persuade, influence others. Some people are blessed to have this natural skill and have a way with words.

Skilled negotiators are usually concerned about finding a solution or an arrangement that is satisfactory to both parties. They look for win-win situations, where both parties are happy with the results of the negotiation.
