PM role in Product vs Service Companies ?

I see PM role in product based companies are simple/easy compare to service companies

People argue PM is PM irrespective of type of company but in reality there are differences

Whats you opinion and experience ?

It is simple: the service is a product too. I was the latin amaerica director for professional services for a hugh (one of the top ten) companies and I was accountable to define the related process.
