Is there a market for Project managers who are ...
Anonymous
Hello,
i have a freelance job as technical analyst and I'm currently attending a course on Project management (PMBOK). My aim is to get certified PMP.
I would like to take on a second job in project management, in order to get more experience, but I could only be available 1-2 days a week for the job. Does anyone know if there is a demand for this ?
Maybe there is a possibility to specialize in a certain domain and work as a consultant in that domain only, ...
Can anyone give me some advice, some pointers or links, and if there is market for this.
Thank you very much in advance Saving Changes...

Dear Anonymous, congratulations and good luck with your PMP. Regarding a second job in project management, there are a number of approaches you could take. One approach is to join you local PMI chapter and volunteer to manage some of the chapter projects. This will enrich your skills and develop your relationships and contacts with other project manager and IT managers. This is also a good forum for you to ask if anyone is interested or has a need for a 1-2 day per week project manager. This could lead to 2nd job employment opportunities for you or to confirm whether or not there is a pressing market need for this. Hope this helps. Good luck with your PMP. -- Mark Perry, VP of Customer Care, BOT International Saving Changes...
