We have severa very large CA ManMan databases which contain a wealth of information about our sales and products.
We are having a bear of a time integrating them with our new systems which are pretty much all built in SQL Server 7.0
Does anyone have any experience using ODBC links to a ManMan database so that the data can be integrated with something such as an ERM solution that will be storing it's data in a relational database such as SQL Server or Oracle? Saving Changes...
Easiest and most trouble free way - announce a period of downtime, export everything - and re-import - been a few years since I did it but I think just a bdbpre6.0 with a few options (company number etc).... you can dump the whole database into ascii files.
The problem with manman (now MK) is that most people ended up running the with the BISAM file system instead of taking the overhead kick and implemting Oracle as a back end from the start... if you have got there, then I bet you had many many sleepless hours over this one - I know I did on manman, MK & Baan....
