Visualizing is one of good methods together with using templates to reduce misunderstandings of messages.

Research the conversational habits of the other culture and comparing it to your own would be very beneficial. For example, in Japan people say 'Yes' and nod their heads periodically during a long conversation to show they are paying attention to the speaker. Westerners would think these indicate assent or agreement, and would believe the speaker made certain commitments. You can imagine the problems that can arise later, when it seems the Japanese speaker reneged on a promise. Learning how other cultures communicate can make you aware of conversational pitfalls you never imagined existed, and prevent many disasters on a project.

Replying to Sonali Malu

Cultural differences definitely need to be understood/considered.
It is better to ask for confirmation about your proposal/feedback to make sure that you are on the same page. It is better to repeat our understanding during conversations over call.
It is a challenge sometimes, but making efforts towards communication can help.
Agreed Sonali.
