As a member of a pm/consultants team, i am looking for a tool or an excel template to track.all projects progression (start and dtop date, progression) and not as detailed as a Gant chart.
My company uses Planview but I think this is too complex for such need.
Do you have any recommendation?

Hi Alex,
Who is managing this data? Is one person maintaining all project information, or is each PM responsible for keeping items current. If the latter, then a centralized location or solution is required. Other than that, simple collection of data points and timeline depiction will suffice.
Considerations: Are there multiple technologies to capture, different areas of focus, .... By creating the needed criteria for capturing project information, one can better visualize current and upcoming work properly segmented as needed.
Caveat: remember, the road-map is only as good as the data entered/maintained. Saving Changes...
I am assigned to create an IT product release map for the year. I am wondering if anyone has either 'ppt' or 'visio' templates that you can share with me so I can use the templates for developing the roadmap for my purpose.

You can find PPT, or Excel, templates there, some free, some not. Or, you can simply be inspired to create your own.

The problem is not the template. The problem is to understand what your stakeholders expect to see to understand the status. After you understand that then you can create anything. For example, in my case, we use a powerpoint slide that show the needed indicators and have "some kind of intelligence" to create it on the fly from the data. Saving Changes...
