I have to renew my credential by September, I have already completed 60 PDUs and recently did a course whcih grants 14 PDUs. If I claim them now, will this excess PDUs roll over to the next 3 year cycle?

Thank you in advance.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out the answer is yes. When my next cycle started I had 42 PDUs.

Good to know this is still in tact.
Yes, as others have said, if you have extra PDUs in the last year of your cycle you can carry over up to 20 to the next cycle.

Could anyone here help me with my PDU query. I recently submitted 16 PDUs for a training I attended in my previous CCU cycle. Since I already had 60 PDUs in that cycle, I expected these 16 PDUs to be applied to my new cycle. However, out of 16, only 8.5 was applied to the current cycle while remaining 7.5 was applied to the previous cycle even though I had the minimum PDUs fulfilled under that category. Does anyone know what could be a reason for it? Thanks!

I realize this is old, but my guess is this has to do with the "Work as a Practitioner" portion of PDU's. I've found that the system will automatically apply learning PDUs and lower your "Work as a Practitioner" PDU's even if you've already renewed.

Here's a quick example:
--I have 60 PDUs completed: 8 Giving Back (Practitioner), 52 Education
--After submitting 4 more PDUs, my proportion changes to: 4 Giving Back (Practitioner), 56 Education

Even though I'd like to roll the 4 PDUs into next cycle, the system is automatically applying them to this cycle and lowering the applied Practitioner PDUs that cannot be transferred.

I'm hoping there is a work around for this, but have yet to find it.

That is an odd situation, especially if you had met the minimum for each leg of the Talent Triangle as well as for the education category in total. I'd suggest contacting PMI Customer Care to get an answer for this...

Maybe an example of 'works as programmed'.

Unfortunately not - PMI's underlying algorithms have always had control over where and how submitted PDUs get allocated.

I'd recommend providing this feedback to customer care as it would be good to have a little more flexibility.
