I have performed conferences around the world, inside the PMI World Tour mainly, to explain this: everybody is a project manager. From the time you wake up to the time you return to bed you are performing project management activities in the PMBOK way for example. The big difference to apply it to work place is the degree of visibility and formality you have to put in place.
