People usually engage in unethical behavior for personal gain (money, power, etc.), so to change their behavior you’d need to switch their focus to something stronger than their desire for personal gain. For example, you might try appealing to the person’s sense of right and wrong, or their sense of honor. First question is: how you define that they behaviors/actions are unethical? You have to take something objective to affirm that (an organizational code of ethics for example). Second to take into account that behavior is an answer to a situation. So, the action-reaction principle is applying here. You have to work on that. Saving Changes...
Great points, but the overall I would say a two pronged approach is needed. First, address the situation with the person(s) who you observe the behavior with. Tackle it head on, to let them know that the behavior is not appropriate. Secondly you can model the ethical behavior you wish to see by your actions with the team and by incorporating it into your regular meetings. For example, if someone behaved in a highly ethical way, call it out and praise them in front of the team to encourage future positive behavior. Saving Changes...
