I would like to be a PMO manager. We don't have a PMO in our company, but I think we need one and I would like to be the PMO Manager. What is a good approach to take? Saving Changes...

Dear Anonymous, you might want to view the need for a PMO in your company and your aspiration to become a PMO manager to be two very separate things. You can certainly participate and drive the PMO effort to your fullest. And it is always good to discuss with management the needs of the business and ways in which you can contribute. Your being the PMO manager may or may not be doable. Be helpful and hopeful, but don't expect it or be disappointed if management has other plans. If you haven't already, you might consider joining your local PMI chapter to meet and get to know other PMs, PMO managers, as well the providers of PM consulting. Good luck. -- Mark Perry, VP of Customer Care, BOT International Saving Changes...

Dear Anonymous, the Project Management Office is often called the PMO. PMO can also stand for Program Management Office. Sorry for using too many acronyms. Regards. Saving Changes...
