We do a very good job of ad hoc project management. In our staff meetings whenever the topic of documenting our processes comes up our manager asks us for pros and cons and a business case. Some of us would like more formalization, but we can't get any support or buy-in. Everyone does their own thing. I just think we could do better. Saving Changes...

Dear Anonymous, you are probably right. But do you know why there is a reluctance to "mature" project management beyond ad hoc? Perhaps someone introduced a complex, inflexible methodology with poor or no results and as a result there is no interest in trying again.
