What's your reason for becoming a project manager?

I created a photo work journal to demonstrate aptitude and ability. I was hoping to get promoted but there was pushback from management and coworkers. I grew depressed having my time mismanaged by supervisors and constant criticism and threats from a workplace bully protected by 3 levels of management. So I set out on my own. At least I have something to show for the last 7 years other than hard feelings.
