How can a simulator help in passing the real PMP exam?
Should we have to go to the simulator to get a good preparation for the PMP?
How to choose which simulator will be best or Will it be ok?

Not sure I agree with you Liliya. Those are far from being close to the real exam in addition to that they are not updated to reflect the last version of the PMBOK. They might be good as flash cards but that’s it.

Hi Sanjay - PMP exam is based on scenarios, as such there not a single correct answer. We need to chose the best fit to given scenario. Hence, simulator helps to make you think the right way to chose the nearest correct answer and is very helpful to pass the exam. As suggested by Hai, oliverlehmann is one of the best site to go through to prep up for real PMP exam. Once you have read PMBok & Rita Mulcahy, practice as many questions as you can.

All the very best your exam :)

Good morning Sanjay,

I do not think we necessarily need a simulator to be successful in the PMP exam.
A good study method using Rita's book and PMBOK Guide I think is necessary or necessary and sufficient condition to be successful.
But if we have a simulator it can also be a plus.

Hi Sanjay,

I think you should have a look to the following online mock test

Any reputable PMP exam simulator of 200 questions is 'a must' in my book. And you should take it more than once with the end goals of knowing how to pace yourself for the 4 hours and how to analyze the questions (looking for key words that reveal what each question is really asking). If you are completing the exam in less than 3.5 hours, you are needlessly rushing yourself. If you are finding you are running out of time within the allotted 4 hours, you probably are not ready to take the exam -- you should do more prep work.

After finishing, make sure you review each and every question answered incorrectly. This will provide you a lessons learned experience: Did you misread the question ... did you rush through too quickly just to answer the question ... did the question reveal a subject matter that you need to revisit. Doing so will improve your chances to do better on the next round and ultimately seating the exam itself.

Good luck!

I encourage my students to review the correct answers immediately after taking a test. There are only four reasons to get for incorrect answers: Time (did not finish in the given time), Learning (Did not know), Carelessness, and Second Guessing. I call the formula TLCs. If anyone can come up with another reason, please share. We provide detailed analysis of our mock exams so that you can identify chapter/process group based strengths and weaknesses.
