I just got my PMP certification, I would like to know from you which is the best way to start implementing this methodology and what important points do I consider I should have?
Obtaining this great achievement of being a PMP is a great responsibility, now comes the power to apply my knowledge and experience very well in the working life, for my concept is an important way to excel and gain confidence in the work. Saving Changes...
As Krishna said, much tailoring is requied depending on the work at hand you are delaing with.
Perhaps, you can create a WBS- a simple excel by decomposing tasks and can start tracking progress and as well as status. In the same excel, if you create a column " Priority" and assigning number to it...like 1,2,3, the same WBS can be used as Risk Break down sructure. If you create a column with " Name of the team member", you can use the same WBS as Resouce Breakdown structure. This can be implemented per project I beleive.
Once again Congratulations on clearing the PMP!!

Congrate Eduin on clearing PMP!! Well done..
I would go with Bala's comment. A PM needs to spent a lot of time in the Initiation and Planning phases so that the project enters the right track from the beginning. You get to showcase the actual PM expertise comes during these phases.
If I were in your position, I would start with reading the project objectives in the charter thoroughly and start preparing the project plan which would help meet the objectives. Also dont forget the risk register

Congratulations Eduin! As Vincent suggested use this knowledge to excel at managing your projects. In your case being a Civil Engineer in Colombia may require additional rules and regulations along with a different Code of Ethics regulated by your local government. So, apply the knowledge that best suits your scope and budget in agreement with your sponsor, stakeholders, and project team.
Congratulations Eduin! I agree with a Gap Analysis, but also to start gathering the project documents. Hopefully there are some in place. Additionally understanding the team dynamics that already at work if you are assuming the leadership from another PM.
If you are starting from the beginning, follow the PMBOK processes.
