Resource Leveling: It is a resource optimization technique in which the start and finish dates are adjusted to keep the resource utilization at optimum level. It is used when there is a resource constraint, when critically required resources are available only during a particular time period, or i limited quantity or deputed elsewhere. Resource leveling usually results in increase in project duration.
Resource Smoothing: The activities are adjusted such that the resources are not allowed to increase a predefined limit. The dates are allowed to change within the free and total float.
